  • Budget airlines: Awful or a God send?

The world has opened up, they said when flying became slightly more usual. People were beginning to fly and travel all over the world; seeing sights they never thought possible, meeting people they never imagined. Stories began to come home about the amazing and incredible things that exist in the world. One thing, however, was changing; people were building companies to take people of lesser incomes to the farthest reaches of the globe.

Travel was no longer for the super rich; the elite and the superstars of the world. Flying was becoming mainstream; and people were taking the opportunity to fly the seven seas, see the Great Wall, float in the Dead Sea and sail down the Nile. These were no longer the stuff that dreams were made of, but the stuff of reality for normal people on lesser incomes. There were downsides, of course, but I can talk about those another day.

  • Cornwall: England’s Greatest County

There’s a lot of debate about where one should holiday within the United Kingdom; all of the home nations have their attractions. Ireland with its great history and famous breweries, Scotland with its beautiful landscapes and Wales with its… sheep? But what about England? What does England have that the other home countries don’t? That’s easy my friend; England has Cornwall.

There’s no debate here. Cornwall is England’s greatest and most beautiful county; anyone who tells you otherwise, or argues against Cornwall, is either lying, hasn’t been there or is one hundred per cent, factually incorrect. Cornwall has too many famous landmarks to name, too many gorgeous sights to list here. All you need to know is that Cornwall is the finest, most beautiful and most incredible county in England, and the best place to visit in the whole of the United Kingdom. Fact. You can visit and then let me know how right I was.

  • A Holiday in Ibiza

As most people will know, Ibiza is one of the top destinations for young adults to go to to have a good time. It offers some of the best night-life in the world during holiday season, as well as some amazing beaches for you to spend your time at during the day. If there is anything negative to be said about the place, it is that it isn’t really suitable for a family holiday.

Ibiza is a Spanish Island, and part of the same chain of islands as Majorca. While it has a similar weather to Majorca, the experiences you’ll gain from the two favourite holiday destinations couldn’t be more different. While there are ample opportunities to have a great family holiday in Majorca, Ibiza is known for the active summer club scene, for the techno music which developed there, and for the great experiences many young people get there.

  • Visiting Winter Lapland

Lapland in winter is a gloriously dreamy place to visit. With a truly Christmas snowy feeling you might think it surely can’t get much better, but you’d be wrong. Not only can you visit Santa Claus and take a sleigh ride, but you can go skiing, play winter golf – on snow, go snowmobiling or even go Christmas shopping in locations like Rovaniemi. Whilst here you can take the amazing opportunity to watch the Northern Lights and even stay in a hotel made from scratch yearly from ice and snow The Icehotel is located in Jukkasjarvi, which is in fact 200km north of the Arctic Circle. If this isn’t for you there are many hotels available to stay or you could even look to stay in your own cosy cabin! Luosto is known for being a magical remote location, it’s one of the best locations to watch the northern lights and a lovely location to spend some time secluded from the rest of society.

  • Natural lakes of China

There a so many heavenly natural spots to visit across China, but we love the water, especially the scenery of the vast number of lakes across the country.

Namtso Lake – Namtso literally means “heavenly lake”. It is located 240km to the northeast of Lhasa. It is a rectangle shape, 70km from east to west and 30km from north to south with an area of 1920 square km and 4718m from sea-level. The lake has 5 islands the largest being 1.2 km2. It is said that they are the avatars of five Buddhas. It has many species of fish and many species of wild animals live by it.
Jingpo Lake is located southwest of Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province. The lake covers over 1200 square meters and is a very popular location for summer.  It is well known for its limestone cliffs, multitude of fish species and fresh water coral and along the north side runs the Diaoshuilou Falls waterfall, which drops approximately 40 meters.

  • All inclusive

As with any type of holiday, when you are choosing where to stay there are always positives and negatives. By choosing all inclusive you are removing the hassle of having to find places to have your meals, leaving more time to enjoy your holiday. However, having paid more money up front for your hotel stay, if you find that the meals are not to your taste or you find yourself taking lots of day trips you’ll find yourself purchasing meals anyway.
Soft drinks and local alcoholic drinks are usually free of charge when you pay for all inclusive, some hotels will provide more than this, so check what yours includes.
With all inclusive you’ll probably find that you don’t need to take as much money with you as you won’t need as much money for food.
All inclusive meals are available at set times, some hotels will offer additional snack bars, but if you want to have a sit down meal, you will need to stick to the allocated times – which won’t suit everyone.

  • Visiting Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is located in Peru, and to get there you will have to travers rainforests and mountains alike to find the ancient Inca city located amongst the clouds, situated between the two mountains, Machu Picchu, and Huayna Picchu. It is the most visited site in Peru, one of the most visited in South America, and is a Unesco World Heritage Site.

    machupicchu

Machu Picchu was built by the Inca for reasons still not fully understood today, but what we do know by the geography of the location is that it is strategically located to defend against defenders, and is organised well to fight off any attacking force. We also know that the city was abandoned when the Spanish Conquistadores invaded what is now Peru but what was the Inca Empire. The site remained undiscovered by modern western society and academia until 1911 (although locals new of its existence).

Machu Picchu has been undergoing a revitalisation since its discovery, with many of the surrounding buildings having been rebuilt in order to give the location a more complete experience for the tourists visiting the place.
